Allergy shots are used for the treatment of environmental and insect allergies. Similar to allergy drops, allergy shots target the immune system in order to treat the underlying cause of allergies (unlike medications which just cover up the symptoms). One of the biggest weaknesses of allergy shots is the long time that it takes to reach effective doses. Dr. Dauby is one of only a few allergists in Western Pennsylvania to offer RUSH protocols, which allow patients to reach effective doses in weeks instead of 4-6 months or longer.

These tests evaluate: environmental, food, insect, and drug allergies. Allergy skin testing is a simple, quick (results are obtained in about 30 minutes), and effective way to identify allergies. Skin testing is nearly painless (feels like a pencil poke) and is well tolerated by young children and adults alike.

This therapy is a safe and effective way to treat food allergies, so that the food previously causing problems can be consumed safely. Dr. Dauby started offering food oral immunotherapy (OIT) in 2017 and has a very high success rate. He treats peanut, tree nuts, cow milk, egg, soybean, wheat, sesame seed. Other foods can be treated based on request.
